A great deal & great quality !! May 29, 2010 C. Wright (Virginia, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't complain one bit about this television. I had first bought a Sylvania 720p TV at Target, but it had a defective HDMI slot, so I returned it. Am I glad I did!! I saw this Philips model for $40 more and decided to go with it instead.
Setup was simple....it took about five minutes to screw on the base (the only tool you will need is a small Phillip's head screwdriver), connect a DVD player, cable line, and HDMI cable. It worked right the very 1st time. And also, unlike the Sylvania model, there is a Comcast universal remote code for the Philips TV.
The sound is OK...not the best in the world...but it works & sounds decent in stereo programming....
Definitely check it out!!
Good Picture Quality May 22, 2010 photographer in FL (FL, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this TV 2 weeks ago, very satisfied with this TV.
Pros:
1 very good picture quality.
2 for $300, it has all types of inputs, I can connect all my video source to it without problem.
Cons:
1 Sound is not a pro level.
2 The base can not be rotated. not very convenient if you want to watch it from different angles.
3 Poor remote control.
A 4.5 star is adequate for this TV.
Great TV, bonus feature April 18, 2010 J. Beck (Waldorf, MD USA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought 2 of these TV's last month. The picture is great, very clear. Sound is clear, but not very loud.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned anyplace is when I get an incoming voice call (I have Comcast VOIP via cable internet) , this TV displays the caller ID on the Television. I don't know if this is picked up via the cable signal itself or if my phone is somehow transmitting this. I am leaning more towards the signal on the cable connection itself.
Phillips 32" LCD HDTV March 30, 2010 Billy J. Baker (Maryland, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Only disappointed about one aspect of this TV and that is the sound. There are three other Phillips TVs in our home and none of them are as bad as this one. Also, this is the only Phillips TV in our home that does not have an earphone jack. We use this jack on our other televisions to attach external Boze speakers to improve the sound by turning off the internal speakers. On this set if external speakers are attached to the real audio outputs there is no way to turn off the internal speakers of the TV. This defeats the purpose of creating a more mellow sound. I have spent many frustrating moments trying to find a way to accomplish sound improvement. The manual does not address the issue.
